David A. Greenberg, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Greenberg is currently Professor Emeritus at the Buck Institute for Age Research in Novato, California. He is a neurologist and neuroscientist who studies cellular and molecular mechanisms of injury and repair in stroke and neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Greenberg earned his AB at Cornell University in 1972 and his MD and Ph.D. at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1976 and 1978, respectively. He completed clinical training in Internal Medicine at New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center and in Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco. He served on the faculty of the Department of Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco from 1982-1994 and at the University of Pittsburgh from 1994-1999. He joined the Buck Institute when it opened in 1999.
